Last Farewell

A photograph from the funeral of a young boy. The boy’s coffin is open so family members can leave a last farewell to the child. Flowers have been laid on the boy’s chest and around his head. Two adults, a man and a woman, are standing beside the coffin, their eyes cast down to look at the dead boy. The man is holding his hat in his hands. Whether the man and the woman are the boy’s parents, other relatives, or family friends, is impossible to tell. A bleak, snowy winter day surrounds the scene.
No exact information about the location or the date is available, but Finland and circa 1930’s seems likely.
